ShareScan for AI assistants · MCP

Check link previews from your AI assistant.

Give your assistant a public page to check. ShareScan inspects its Open Graph tags, sharing images and X card metadata, then returns findings and a full report. Keep an eye on the page with optional free weekly email monitoring.

Free pilot. No ShareScan account, API key or card needed.

From a question to a report

Check once. Fix the issue. Choose what happens next.

01

Ask about one page

Check a sharing image, diagnose missing Open Graph tags, or review a page before publishing.

02

Open the full report

Your assistant gets issue counts, up to three priority findings and a link to the complete free report.

03

Keep checking, if you want

Open the report to choose free weekly email monitoring. Enter your email, give consent and confirm before it starts.

Connect once

Add ShareScan to your assistant.

Codex CLI

Run this command, then start a new Codex session.

codex mcp add sharescan --url https://sharescan.io/api/mcp

In the desktop app, you can add the server in Settings → MCP servers. Save it and restart the MCP connection. OpenAI setup guide

Other MCP clients

Add a remote MCP server using this URL. Choose Streamable HTTP and no authentication.

https://sharescan.io/api/mcp

Your assistant must support remote MCP servers. Follow its setup instructions; availability can depend on your plan or workspace settings. No public directory listing is available yet.

Try a question

Start with the page you want to check.

Replace the example address with your public page URL. Connecting or visiting this guide does not start a scan.

Check https://example.com/product for Open Graph issues before I launch it.
Why might LinkedIn show the wrong image for https://example.com/article?
Check the X card for https://example.com/ and show me how to monitor the page.

Before you connect

What the tool does.

One page, at one point in time

The tool checks one public page and its referenced preview assets. It does not crawl your whole site or clear social-platform caches. A platform can still show a different or older card.

Scans use a shared pilot allowance. If a limit is reached, the assistant receives a retry interval. Wait for it rather than repeatedly retrying.

Reports and optional monitoring

Only submit public URLs without credentials or secret query parameters. ShareScan stores the submitted URL and scan results. Anyone with the report link can read it; links normally expire after 180 days.

A scan does not subscribe you, send email or change billing. If you confirm free email monitoring, the first check follows within 24 hours, then weekly. Wider workspace coverage is available on free and paid plans.
